knowledge and understanding of the development and care of individuals from conception to old age.<\/p>\n<p>Learners will gain an understanding of how service provision in the Health and Social Care, and Childcare sectors in Wales support the development and well-being of individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Learners will also be introduced to a broad range of roles within the Health and Social Care, and Childcare sectors which will help them to develop an understanding of the career pathways available to them.<\/p>\n<p>The GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare (Single Award) will cover key topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>human growth, development and well-being<\/li>\n<li>promoting and maintaining health and well-being<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare (Double Award) will cover additional topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>health, social care and childcare in the 21st Century<\/li>\n<li>promoting and supporting health and well-being to achieve positive outcomes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Assessment<\/h3>\n<p>The GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare (Single Award) will be made up of two mandatory units.<\/p>\n<p>The GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare (Double Award) will be made up of four mandatory units.<\/p>\n<p>The qualifications are both externally and internally assessed.<\/p>\n<h3>Further Opportunities<\/h3>\n<p>Learners completing the GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare could study other<br \/>\nqualifications within the suite.<\/p>\n<p>They may also be interested in progressing to further study and\/or training in related areas including: Sociology, Psychology and Medical Science.<\/p>\n<h3>Examining Body<\/h3>\n<h5><a
